ModigenceVision and its integrated vision platform MARU were the subject of a feature in Hankook Ilbo, a national daily published in Seoul, on August 21, 2026, in print and online.
The company, founded in June 2023, makes 3D vision hardware and edge AI software for physical AI. Its customers work in robotics, medical devices, manufacturing, logistics, and agriculture.
The feature’s argument is that perception is the bottleneck. As robots and automated equipment take on AI, compute and hardware advance quickly, but a machine’s understanding of its surroundings has not kept pace. Robots that behave well in simulation and early tests misbehave on site because of perception errors. Camera modules, edge compute, and vision software come from different suppliers, so the integration burden falls on the customer.
MARU is the company’s answer: a platform that integrates sensors, an edge SoC, and vision AI, so that a customer combines sensing, compute, and AI models to fit its application, the way building blocks fit together. Delivering the hardware and software stack as one cuts the time and cost from first evaluation to deployment and volume production.
In Korea the company supplies modules to Samsung Electronics’ medical device business and Hanwha Vision, the feature notes, and it works with more than ten customers in five countries, including France, Belgium, and India.
